born in a small village in central Mexico know as MEXICO CITY . Famous for it' aztec ruins ,history, and culture and yet, infamous for it's "crime rate".(come on it's a 30 mil.+ population some one is bound not to get along).Sadly you will always have crime regardless of were you go. The city is also know for it's smog and seismal activity like San Francisco.In fact it was such an earthquake in 85 that drove my family away I was 6 years old at the time.My mother remarried a man from the U.S. who was there on a busyness trip .Changing our way of life and rewriting my families future...to be continued.

"Suffering an economic flu"

Finally good news ! Last Saturday Carnival cruise line announced that it will restart it's visits to the mexican ports , shortly after the U.S. government gave the approval and removed the safety alert.That is very good news since 95% of P.V.'s economy relies on tourism alone.The cruse ships along with planes and buses cancelled their arrival to the Mexican coasts after the fear of an "epidemic influenza " was at bay. Despite the fact that the WHO confirmed of a"no pending danger if entering the country".The local govenment and state are helping both the unemployed and working on strategies to boost the economy . Where is the federal government in all this?They are more focused on the cancun side , perhaps because most of the top govenment officials' homes are situated there. What ever the reason not even a word of moral support as been mentioned. Times like this makes Puerto Vallarta , really appreciate the things that made it what it as become. No it is not it's golden sand beaches , or its luxurious resorts ,heart warming restaurants , or even it's fantastic array of family orientated adventure tours.For those of you still guessing I tell you ... I regarded as an approval of what I am saying , IT IS THE NON-STOP-FLOW- OF- WONDERFUL- VISITORS -YEAR- AFTER- YEAR !

the non-flu tourist-town

Another day goes by in the country and town where time stands still especially for those in the entertainment busyness . Whether it's a futbol (soccer ) game , or a rock concert the attendance is significantly low . An all out scare over a so called epidemic , got everyone acting like it's the black plague in the dark ages that killed nearly half the people of western Europe . Welcome to the 21st century where people still act like its 1918 . The economy stinks, now this flu to top it off ! The whole thing stinks , so much that every one is comming up with their own conclusions . Conspiracy theories, this tentative insights are more common on the internet. What ever it may be it is affecting us all and here in Puerto Vallarta , like in Cancun and many other tourist hot spots, is been a hard impact on our economy to the point job loss as more than tripled . Resorts are almost crippled.All this ! and yet, not ONE case of either deads from the flu or even flu reports in P.V..Tourism is hurting thanks to the medias'hunger for more ratings . This is of coure my humbled opinion...
